A time to grow, to thrive, and to work together again. Over the past four years, we\u2019ve proven what\u2019s possible when we lead with integrity, listen with humility, and stay focused on results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When this council started its term, we were facing serious challenges. Aging infrastructure, depleted reserves, and a disconnect between leadership and community. <br><br>Here\u2019s what we\u2019ve done to change that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714\ufe0f<\/strong> <strong>Financial Stability<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Erased a $1.87 million operating deficit and began rebuilding reserves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delivered budgets that stayed under target.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shifted the tax split to 1 to 1.5, ensuring fairness between residential and non-residential ratepayers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714\ufe0f<\/strong><strong> Infrastructure That\u2019s Getting Fixed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developed a long-term road strategy with an annual 85 percent replacement funding locked in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Focused on repair and renewal instead of just building new amenities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set Morinville on a path to catch up on 30 years of infrastructure backlog.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714\ufe0f<\/strong> <strong>Public Safety First<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Added a third traffic light at Grandin and 100 Avenue in partnership with the province.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installed crossing flashers along 100 Street and 100 Avenue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lowered speed limits in residential areas because safety matters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintained strong relationships with Morinville\u2019s RCMP Detachment and community policing priorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714\ufe0f<\/strong> <strong>Economic Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attracted new businesses through three-year tax incentives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welcomed new stores like Shoppers Drug Mart and Dollarama.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthened Morinville\u2019s regional standing through leadership on the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board before it was dissolved by the province, and continued that work as Chair of Edmonton Global.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714\ufe0f<\/strong> <strong>Community-Focused, Collaborative Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Built strong ties with Alexander First Nation through Treaty 101, pipe ceremony, and a joint task force between Town and Band Council members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Represented Morinville at events of all sizes, from powwows to puck drops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hired to strengths. Listened to every voice around the table. I\u2019ve always believed that as Mayor, I am only one of seven decision makers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, we\u2019ve tackled long-standing challenges and started rebuilding the foundation for a stronger future.<br><br>On September 22, I was acclaimed as Mayor for another term. Acclamation means there is no election race for mayor, but it does not mean there is no responsibility. My responsibility now, as always, is to listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we move into the next four years, I want to hear your ideas, priorities, and concerns.
